Thirty years in concentration and labor camps.

Arrest/Internment History

November 1944 – She takes refuge with the family of Ndok Gjeloshi in Shkodra.

March 1945 – She is arrested and held under house arrest at the home of Guljelm Luka, Shkoder.

July 1945-She is deported to the restricted city of Berat.

March 1947 – She is detained by the Secret Police and sent to hard labor in Kuçovë.

April 1949 – She returns to Berat.

May 1949 – She is transferred to the concentration camp in Tepelene.

1952-1953 – She is sent to work in a tile factory in Kamez, Tirana.

Early 1954 – She is transferred back to Tepelene.

May 1954– She is transferred to the labor camp in Saver, Lushnje.

June 1968 – She is transferred to the labor camp in Gjaze, Lushnje.

January 1975 – She marries Gjovalin Vata and is released. They relocate to Shkoder where she would perform hard labor in a cement factory until her retirement.

August 1991 – After the fall of communism she is reunited with the rest of the family at their home in Shkodra.

August 8, 2022 – She dies peacefully in Shkodra.
